Gifti’s curiosity with hair started in elementary school and continued through middle and high school. Her skill and passion for hair lead to Gifti building her first set of consistent clients when she was in the 7th grade. Providing natural hair styles like cornrows with designs, box braids, flat twists, and braided up dos. By her Junior year in high school she was enrolled in North Tech’s cosmetology program.

After graduating high school Gifti was accepted into the Textile Design program at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise located in Los Angeles, California. Her attraction to design and color was heightened at FIDM.

After completing the Sisterlocks training program in 2017, Gifti decided to pursue hair professionally. In 2019 she completed a cosmetology apprenticeship. She is now a licensed cosmetologist.

Outside the hair salon, Gifti enjoys spending time with family, taking trips to Los Angeles, her home town, studying and teaching traditional West African Dance.
